Custom vs Personalised Golf Balls: What's the Difference?
5 March 2026
Short answer: they're the same product. "Custom golf balls" and "personalised golf balls" both mean a golf ball printed with your own design — a logo, a photo, a name or a message. Nobody will send you the wrong thing because you used one word rather than the other. The two terms just tend to show up in different situations, which is worth knowing when you're searching or briefing someone.
"Personalised" usually means a gift
When people say personalised golf balls, they usually mean something for one person: a name or initials, a family photo, a message for a birthday, Father's Day or Christmas. It's typically a single dozen on a ball the golfer already likes — a Pro V1 for a serious player, or a softer, cheaper ball for a casual one. Our full range is on the personalised golf balls page.
"Custom" usually means a logo
Custom golf balls (and "custom printed", "logo" or "branded" golf balls) tend to mean a business, club or event order: a company logo for a corporate golf day, a club crest for members, a sponsor's mark for a charity day. The order is usually bigger and the artwork matters more. See logo & promotional golf balls for that side of things.
What's actually different about the order?
Very little, on our side. Every ball — gift or corporate — is printed the same way:
- Full-colour UV print straight onto the ball, over an area about 22 mm across, on one or both sides.
- The same flat personalisation charge whatever you print: a one-colour name costs the same as a six-colour crest or a photo.
- A free digital proof before anything is printed.
- No minimum order — one dozen or a hundred.
- Printed to order in Australia and dispatched in 3–5 business days (orders over 20 dozen take a little longer).
The only practical differences are the artwork (a logo needs a clean file — see is a low-resolution logo good enough?) and the quantity.
What does it cost?
Printed balls start from $40.01 a dozen with the personalisation included, and go up with the ball — tour balls like the TaylorMade TP5 are $84.95 a dozen. Shipping is a flat $9.90 and free on orders over $100. For a worked example at event scale, see what 200 branded golf balls actually cost.
Which should you search for?
Whichever word you'd naturally use — the product is the same. If it's a present, start with custom golf gifts. If it's for a business or event, start with corporate golf balls. Or browse every ball we print on our custom golf balls home page.
